Roval had clear goals in mind when creating the CLX50, create a pair of wheels that are 45-55mm deep, 2Bliss ready, aero, ultra-wide, and all for under 1400g to create the ultimate Unicorn wheel. Borrowing weight saving techniques from the CLX 32 and aero guidance from the CLX 64, the Roval CLX 50 2017 wheels managed to achieve these goals without sacrificing the durability and performance that you demand from premium wheels. After choosing the ideal depth at 50mm, Roval used Computational Fluid Dynamics modelling to arrive at three rim shapes, each one was CNC machined into rims and put into the Win Tunnel to find the perfect shape.
