Product Description
Developing the tried-and-tested tech of previous models, the 2020 Roubaix blurs the lines between 'stiff and snappy' and 'compliant and comfortable' even further. Taking its namesake from one of the toughest races on the cycling calender, the Roubaix was designed to take on anything from cobbled streets to poorly maintained roads thanks to its Future Shock tech and Pave seatpost. Super Light Carbon The Roubaix Pro is constructed of FACT 10r Carbon with Rider First Engineered technology. The carbon frame strikes the perfect balance of compliance, aerodynamics and light weight. Previous models were light, yet Specialized have somehow shaved another 175g off the weight. The incredible stiffness of the frame gives you that extra edge on the sprints, whilst the Rider First Engineered design ensures that the stiffness remains at optimal level across the size range. Aerodynamics The Roubaix's tubes were created in Specialized's FreeFoil Shape Library and put through their paces in their own Win Tunnel testing facility, the result being a bike as aero as the Tarmac SL6. The Pave seatpost provides the same compliance that Roubaix's are renowned for with added aero elements and no increase in weight. Give yourself the edge without sacraficing on comfort. SRAM Force eTAP AXS Benefiting from direct 'trickle down' tech from the Red eTAP AXS groupset, SRAM's Force eTAP offers expert performance without the price tag to boot. The wireless setup keeps weight down and makes for easy setup and customisation, and the shifting is smooth, accurate and reliable. The AXS tech allows the rider to connect their groupset to an app on their phone, displaying battery status, maintenance reminders and allowing you to personalise controls. The SRAM hydraulic disc brakes provide powerful yet modulated braking power, allowing you to brake less and pedal more. Future Shock 2.0 Featuring the aforementioned Future Shock tech found on previous models, the Expert, Pro and S-Works models boast the 2.0 version. Retaining the 20mm of travel whilst enjoying 9 different settings of adjustment, the Future Shock allows you to fine tune your ride for comfort or performance. The stiffest setting is not a full lock-out, but it provides a stiff ride whilst still soaking up the biggest bumps. Topping off the quality spec is the Roval CL 32 Carbon wheelset, blending aerodynamics and rigidity to achieve the highest performance.
