So why not buy one that can do everything? The Thron2 is a brand new line of bikes from Focus that was designed to do just that. It features a 7005 aluminium frame that can be found across Focus' eBike range, and for good reason; lightweight so as to not waste precious battery lugging unnecessary weight, but rugged enough to take on the big hits when tackle the trails. The Thron2 features front and rear suspension that effortlessly soaks up rugged offroad terrain, but can also be locked out for the morning commute. The Thron2 will also take a pannier rack for your touring luggage or the weekly shop, as well as fenders and a kickstand. Or, if you'd prefer, the Thron2 EQP is available with these and integrated lights included. The new 4th gen Bosch Performance CX motor is one of the best drives out there, designed for ambitious bikers who see the trail as a second home. The Bosch 500Wh battery has been seamlessly integrated into the downtube for a clean aesthetic, and the drive motor is barely noticable. The 6.7 features the brand new SRAM SX Eagle groupset. The SX Eagle is 1x12 system, providing the wide range of gears found on much more expensive machines whilst keeping cost down. You get simple, accruate gear shifting with enough gears to get you over anything in your way, for the minor cost of a slight weight increase when compared to its premium siblings-hardly the biggest issue on an eBike! The Rockshox forks and Suntour rear shock provide 130mm of travel to keep you firmly in control when the going gets tough, with Shimano hydraulic disc brakes rounding off the spec with confident, all-weather stopping power. F.O.L.D The Focus Optimised Linkage Design, or FOLD for short, offer rear suspension that was designed with E-MTB in mind; by utilising ‘two-phase kinematics’ Focus have managed to create a rear suspension that is both degressive in the first phase and progressive in the second phase. The regressive phase is extremely responsive to the smallest of bumps, with a marked increase in traction as a result.
